The Professional Development Fund is designed to encourage CCML members to participate in
professional development opportunities. Special funds are designated to provide financial
support to members who wish to attend continuing education courses and professional
meetings or programs.
The Education Committee reviews submitted applications. If
committee members apply for funds, they are excused from the review process for that award.
All applications must comply with the guidelines listed below. If
equally qualified applicants are under consideration, and there is not sufficient funding
for all, the application(s) with the earliest postmark(s) will be funded first. The number
of awards given will be limited by the available funds. The amount of funds is determined by
the CCML President and Treasurer for the current year. The total awards given for the year will
not exceed $500.
Guidelines
- The applicant must be a regular member of CCML for at least one
year, or an emeritus member.
- Professional Development funds are to be used for local, regional, or national educational library courses,

- Awards of up to $200 per applicant may be granted each year.
- The award will not exceed the registration fee or charge for the
continuing education course. Funds are not intended to be used for meals or travel expenses.
- Institutional matching of funds is not required.
- Applications must be received by the chair of the Education Committee, four weeks prior to the course/program.
Recipients' Responsibilities
- Applicants receiving awards must complete an evaluation form and
return it to the Education Committee chair, within two weeks of the
course/program.
- Brief summaries from the evaluation forms may be considered for
publication in Council Quotes.
