CCML Membership Meeting

  • 11 Sep 2020
  • 9:00 AM - 10:30 AM
  • Online via Zoom

Hi CCML Members-

Please join us for our first membership meeting of the year on Friday, September 11 from 9am – 10:30am via Zoom. You can find the Zoom invitation at the bottom of this message.

I am excited to introduce our speaker, Andrew Friedson. Andrew is an Associate Professor in the Department of Economics at CU Denver and holds a secondary appointment in the Department of Health Systems Management and Policy at the Colorado School of Public Health. His research includes recent work on measuring the public health benefits and economic costs of public policies aimed at combating the spread of COVID-19. He teaches courses on the economics of healthcare and public health at CU Denver and CU Anschutz.

His presentation will discuss policies to combat the spread of COVID-19, such as non-essential business closures, school closures, public gathering bans, and shelter-in-place orders. The discussion will focus on the latest research attempting to quantify the costs and benefits of these policies to get a sense of the tradeoffs between public health and economic activity that are being chosen.

Agenda:

9:00 – 9:10: Welcome and Speaker Introduction

9:10 – 9:45: Presentation by Andrew Friedson

9:45 – 9:55: Presentation Q&A

9:55 – 10:30: Business Meeting
