Why did you choose to become a librarian?
Previously, I worked as an Adult-Gerontology Primary Care Nurse Practitioner. After 10 years in direct clinical care, I decided to pivot toward librarianship and am excited to be pursuing a Health Sciences concentration. I hope to match my nursing background with information science to support health professions students, clinical providers and researchers, and ultimately, better serve patients and their families.

Where did you attend college?
I am currently an MLS graduate student at Emporia State University (expected graduation December 2024). I received my Master of Science in Nursing and Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Northeastern University, and a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and Global Health Certificate from Duke University.

What is your hometown?
I’m from Park City, UT, though I am now living in Denver, CO..

What is your favorite book?
Such a tough question! If I had to choose one, it would probably have to be One Hundred Years of Solitude by Gabriel García Márquez. It is a book that I could read over and over again and always find something new.

What is your favorite feature in your library/favorite part of your job?
I am currently working as a Library Associate at Englewood Public Library, and my favorite feature of our library is the Culture Pass Program. I love spending time at museums and institutions around the area for free!

What are your hobbies outside your job?
I am a mom (to a 3.5 year old and expecting another in February), so outside my job I am spending most of my time with my family. I also love being outdoors, and try to explore the beautiful Colorado landmarks, National Parks, and hiking trails as much as I can.

Do you have any hidden talents?
I’m not sure if this counts as a hidden talent, but I have really good intuition, and my gut is almost always right!
